Eligibility/Services

Students who have paid the Health and Counseling Centers Fee or the Medical Student Coral Gables Health Fee are eligible to receive care at the Student Health Service and Counseling CenterYou are NOT required to have the University sponsored health insurance plan in order to utilize the services of the Student Health Service. Many services are provided at no charge and charges for other services can be submitted for payment to most insurance companies.

Business Hours

If your resident needs care during Student Health's normal Hours of Operation you can contact the main number by dialing 305-284-9100. Visit the Student Health Service website for a directory of phone numbers and to schedule appointments online.

 

Hours of Operation - Fall and Spring Semesters:

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays - 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursdays - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturdays (Fall/Spring Semester only - For Acute Care) - 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Sundays (Fall/Spring Semester only - For Acute Care) - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

After Hours

If your resident needs care while the Student Health Service is closed, have them call the Student Health Service on-call provider at (305) 284-9100 for assistance, or Aetna's Customer Service to speak with a Nurse at (866) 639-1420. Visit the Student Health Service website for a list of specific locations to receive medical care after hours.

The Health Education staff is excited to offer and promote a variety of virtual resources and programs to support the UM community.

We are still available and happy to create and present programs for classes and organizations. We are able to do this live through Zoom. We are also available to consult and collaborate on various health and wellness programs and events for students.

Our Health Education Center staff are a resource for you! Reach out if you: 

  • Need help creating any health communication materials (flyers, health bulletin boards, social media, etc.)
  • Would like to request a presentation on a health topic (sexual health, sleep, etc.)
  • Would like to collaborate on an event 
  • Have any questions related to health education or the Student Health Service
