External condoms can be used for vaginal, anal, or oral sex on a penis and with toys. External condoms are sometimes called “male condoms” because they are often placed on a penis. When used correctly and consistently, external condoms are an effective way to protect yourself and your partner from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and to prevent pregnancy. Student Health offers the following types of external condoms: External Condom Dos and Don’ts DO DON’T Learn More
Internal condoms can be used for vaginal or anal sex and with toys. Internal condoms are sometimes called “female condoms” because they are often placed inside a vagina. Female condoms protect against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) when used correctly and consistently. Student Health offers the FC2® internal condom. FC2® is made of nitrile, a latex-free material. It’s spermicide-free and is coated with a silicone lubricant for increased comfort and sensitivity. Internal Condom Dos and Don’ts DO DON’T Learn More
Dental dams can be used for oral sex on a vagina or anus and with toys. Dental dams are specifically designed to prevent the spread of STDs during oral sex on a vagina or anus. Student Health offers Trustex® flavored thin latex sheets in assorted fruit flavors (Size: 6×10″). Dental Dams Dos and Don’ts DO DON’T Learn More
Personal lubricant, also known as lube, can be used for vaginal, anal, or oral sex, and with toys. Lube reduces friction during sex (of all kinds) to make it comfier, safer and more enjoyable. Many condoms already have some lube on them. Lubricants are available either as water-based, silicone-based, or oil-based products. DON’T use oil-based products like baby oil, lotion, petroleum jelly, or cooking oil with condoms or dental dams because they can cause them to break. Learn More
