Domestic Students
Domestic undergraduate students enrolled in six or more credit hours per semester and domestic graduate students considered full time are required to obtain adequate health insurance.
All students are required to obtain adequate health insurance coverage (few exemptions apply). To assist students in obtaining coverage, the University-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan by United Healthcare is designed to be used in conjunction with the services of the Student Health Service and Counseling Center.
Domestic students with adequate coverage of their own can waive the University-sponsored plan, however, international students are required to enroll in the University-sponsored plan (unless being sponsored by an embassy).
*Includes the deductible, copays, coinsurance, and covered prescription drug copays.

Dental and vision plans vary considerably. Please carefully review the benefits and limitations to ensure that the policy meets your needs.
As required by law, dental and vision coverage is included in the University-sponsored insurance plan for enrollees under age 19. Additionally, all enrollees are eligible for an annual routine eye exam from a United Healthcare participating optometrist (subject to co-payment; does not include eyewear). Search for a provider at MyUHC.com.
Domestic undergraduate students enrolled in six or more credit hours per semester and domestic graduate students considered full time are required to obtain adequate health insurance.
All international students are required to enroll in the University-sponsored health insurance program regardless of credit load. The annual premium for this coverage is added to each student's fees.
Graduating seniors, and others leaving the University, are encouraged to seek alternative coverage well before the termination of their current plan.
Graduate students with an active graduate assistantship job assignment in Workday and who are eligible for the Graduate School subsidy can pay for the remaining portion of the insurance via payroll deduction.
Miller School of Medicine MD and MD/MPH students enrolled in six or more credit hours per semester are required to obtain adequate health insurance.
Although not eligible for care at Student Health Service, dependents and spouses of enrollees are eligible for coverage.
