Graduate students are required to obtain adequate health insurance according to the guidelines described for domestic and international students.
Graduate students with an active graduate assistantship job assignment in Workday (Graduate Assistant: Teaching, Research or Administrative) and who are eligible for the Graduate School subsidy can pay for the remaining portion of the insurance via payroll deduction by requesting the subsidy via CaneLink.
If the Graduate Health Insurance Subsidy does not appear on your CaneLink, contact your academic department because they are responsible for granting you eligibility for the subsidy option.
The enrollment period is available in CaneLink from August 1 to October 15. For your insurance to become effective, you must either pay the insurance charge and all other charges on your account or elect the subsidy and pay the other remaining charges.
If you are eligible for the subsidy and will be graduating in the fall semester, you must notify Student Health Service at studenthealth@miami.edu. If you do not make arrangements for payment, the remaining charge will be added to your student account.
