Travel Benefits

Through participation in the Student Health Insurance Plan, you are eligible for global emergency medical assistance services when traveling 100 miles or more from your principal residence. Students with other adequate insurance coverage who need the additional benefits of medical evacuation and repatriation coverage can purchase this coverage separately. 

Emergencies are covered anywhere in the world: Services—which are provided by Global Medical Management—include evacuation, repatriation, and the return of mortal remains. Once you are ready to be released from the hospital, UHC Global will make arrangements to transport you to your residence or rehabilitation facility, with medical supervision, if necessary.

Coverage Highlights

Limits under the Premium Plan include:

  • Medical evacuation: up to $100,000
  • Medical repatriation: up to $25,000
  • Non-Medical repatriation: up to $5,000
  • Return of remains: up to $10,000
  • Transportation to visit a hospitalized student: up to $5,000
  • Transportation to return companion: up to $5,000
  • Transportation to return minor children: up to $5,000
  • Hospital admission guarantee: $5,000
  • 24-hr accidental death and dismemberment: up to $10,000

Note: When receiving medical care while abroad, payment may be required at the time of service. Please keep all invoices and receipts to submit for reimbursement of any eligible expenses upon your return. You may also wish to purchase additional travel insurance for services not provided by this plan.
