Syphilis
  • Overview of Syphilis
    • Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that can cause very serious complications when not treated properly. It is commonly spread through direct contact with syphilis sore during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Symptoms of syphilis include rash or sores around the genitals, swollen lymph nodes, and fever. In serious cases, syphilis can affect the heart, brain, and other parts of your body. To prevent syphilis, practice monogamy, use latex condoms during intercourse, and get tested to know your STD status. To get tested, contact your physician or make an appointment at the Student Health Services here.
