    • Measles is caused by a highly contagious virus leading to fever, runny nose, red eyes, sore throat, and rashes on the body. The measles are transmitted through the air when individuals cough or sneeze. However, the measles can be prevented with the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination.
