  • Overview of Alcohol Abuse
    • Alcohol is depressant contains intoxicating ingredients such as ethanol which is found in liquids such as beer, wine, and liquor. These ingredients have the ability to make rational decisions, motor function, and response time. However, the degree of intensity to which it affects an individual depends on various factors such as age, gender, race, physical condition, etc.
    • Binge drinking is a pattern of drinking alcohol that brings the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to .08 or more. This corresponds to 5 or more drinks for men and 4 or more drinks on a single occasion within 2 hours or less.
